My thoughts on my job search journey
This is a different Blog from my usualls uploads. I will be a bit shorter and i will be talking about my thoughts while looking for jobs last few weeks.
So as you know I studied at Flatiron school where I learned a few different languages some of them being JavaScript, react, Ruby, Ruby on Rails.

But I realized that even though these are great languages, right now there are a lot of companies that ask for languages like PHP,.NET, C#, Angular, etc.
Backend Languages
My opinion for backend languages that you should have a look for at least having some knowledge is PHP. This will help you as you will be able to say that you know the basic of it. PHP is a really old language but is still used for many companies and as a Junior that wants to find a job and increase his experience you will be likely starting with smaller companies that use a bit older languages
Frontend Languages
Now the strong part of my research is the front-end languages that I know as React and JavaScript are used a lot through the different companies so I don’t have a complaint about this aspect.
Having said that, I think everyone should do at least one project with Angular it doesn’t matter if it is small as you will be able to say that you have touched a bit of this language.
Interview Skills
For interviews, I found that having good problem-solving knowledge will help you as every company that you apply for will give you a test to show your skills. I find these webpages really useful to practice this skill.
- — HackerRank —

HackerRank focuses on computer science topics so it provides challenges for several domains such as Algorithms, Mathematics, SQL, Functional Programming, AI, and more. You can solve all the challenge directly online (see example). They provide a discussion and leaderboard for every challenge, and most challenges come with an editorial that explains more about the challenge and how to approach it to come up with a solution.
2 . —Codewars —

Codewars provides a large collection of coding challenges submitted and edited by their own community. You can solve the challenges directly online in their editor using one of 20+ programming languages. You can view a discussion for each challenges as well as user solutions. You can earn points and climb the rankings by solving their challenges.
2. — CodeFights —

CodeFights provides a collection of coding challenges for you to solve in their online editor and there is a forum for users to discuss the challenges. They also have a feature called Company Bots where you write code to compete against a “bot” that was programed by engineers at companies like Uber, Dropbox, and Quora.
Conclusion
I think everyone that is looking for a job should keep improving the knowledge they have and add some basic stuff from other languages that maybe be useful. For sure have a look at the websites above as they will help you a lot with your interviews.
